3-1

Wow, what a game. The Lakers come home to Staples Center leading 3-1 in the series. Again, it should NOT have been that close near the end. Mental mistakes here and there allowed the Spurs to get too close. I guess it's still a learning process, even for Kobe (he should've ran off more time instead of trying to score). Nonetheless, 1 more win and the Lakers go to the NBA Finals!

WORKOUT TIPS FOR THE SUMMER: It looks like a bunch of us are getting back to the workout routine. The science doesn't change. To lose (fat) weight, you have to eat healthier foods and cut down on the portions. To make the process go faster, you need to exercise at least 3 times a week. 4-5 times a week is best for the quickest results.

First, lift weights for 20-30 minutes, with little rest in between. Do arms, shoulders, situps, etc. Include leg exercises, especially squats and lunges. They burn the most calories because the muscles being worked out are bigger. Then do cardio for another 15-20 minutes.

You only need to be in the gym for an hour or less. When you lift weights (with short rest) and do cardio right after, you're virtually turning your entire workout into a cardio workout. In essence, you'll be doing 40-50 minutes of cardio. Do this 3-5 times a week, and you'll lose at least 2lbs each week.

I know it's tempting, but DON'T weigh yourself every day. Daily weighing is not a good indicator of fat loss. It reflects water loss (and gain), which can fluctuate greatly day to day. Instead, see how your clothes fit after a few weeks. When you notice that your "fat" pants are getting looser, you KNOW that you're on the right track.

I'll have more eating/drinking and workout tips throughout the summer. Good luck!
